Early Closure - Eligibility - Misconduct - Parent Letter

Whenever possible, school closure announcements will be made the evening before via notification system and on all 10 p.m. TV and radio broadcasts. If it is not possible, an announcement will be made by 5:30 a.m. If school is closed during the day due to a snowstorm, it is determined that all students have satisfactory transportation. Parent instructions from each student’s emergency closure form are followed.

The LCSD1 Transportation Services Department follows the Wyoming Department of Education Chapter 20 rules for student transportation. Eligible students must reside outside the “no transportation zone” which is the area around a school encompassed by a radius of:
- 2.00 miles for secondary students
- 1.00 mile for elementary students
Transportation Services information regarding all students should be obtained by calling the appropriate school prior to calling the LCSD1 Transportation Services Department at (307)771-2628.

If there is an infraction of the rules the driver may give the student a misconduct sheet indicating the problem and that sheet will need to be signed by the parent before the student can ride the bus again. If necessary, the parent will be asked to attend a meeting with the LCSD1 Transportation Services supervisor, driver and the student’s principal to correct the problem.

Welcome back! We hope you and your family had a wonderful summer. The Transportation Department is excited to begin a new school year and looks forward to safely transporting our students each day.
Finding Your Student's Bus Information
To help families prepare for the first day of school, we encourage you to use Infofinder i, our online bus routing system. There have been many changes in routing for the upcoming school year, including new bus numbers, stop times, & stops.
Infofinder i allows parents to view:
- Bus stop locations
- Pick-up and drop-off times
- Bus route information
- School attendance and transportation details
You can access LCSD1 Infofinder i via this link
To use Infofinder i:
- Enter your student's home address exactly as it appears in school records.
- Select the appropriate search option.
- Review the assigned bus stop location and scheduled times.
- Please arrive at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled departure times. The time listed is when the bus will Depart the bus stop.
If your information does not appear correctly or you have questions regarding your students’ transportation assignment, please contact our office for assistance.

Our staff is available during these hours to assist with routing questions, bus stop concerns, lost items, transportation eligibility, and general transportation inquiries.
Important Reminders
- Grades K-2: These students must be met at the bus stop by a parent, a guardian, or an older sibling.
- Ensure your child knows their bus number and stop location before the first day of school.
- Students should be at the stop at least 5 minutes early.
- Bus routes and times may be adjusted during the first few weeks of school as enrollment changes occur.
- Please make sure your school has current contact information so we can communicate important transportation updates when necessary.
- LCSD1 Transportation offers a parent app called StopFinder. This app allows parents to receive notifications regarding the proximity of the bus in relation to your assigned stop. In addition, it allows messaging between the parent and Transportation. Please contact the Transportation department if you would like additional information or want access.
