Over the summer, 15 Central High French students participated in a 26-day educational tour to France.

Students began the trip with a two-week homestay in Mende, France. They lived with host families, attended French high school and participated in cultural activities with local students.

While in France, Central students hosted a Wyoming Day event, sharing information about Wyoming and Cheyenne with nearly 300 French students.

The group then traveled through southern France and Paris, visiting historic and cultural sites. Students practiced speaking French and gave presentations in French about assigned historic sites and figures.

The trip was part of Central’s continuing partnership with Lycée Chaptal. Twenty Central families hosted French exchange students in Cheyenne during fall 2025.

Central students Eliza Scranton and Malea Adams-Case each received a $1,500 travel scholarship from the Société Honoraire de Français, a national French honor society. They were among 10 students nationwide selected for the award.
