Multi-Tiered System of Supports
Multi-Tiered System of Supports

Goal/Vision
MTSS is a proactive system that delivers the right level of instruction, intervention, and resources at the right time, using problem‑solving and data‑based decision making so every learner can succeed.
What is MTSS
MTSS is a framework that organizes academic, behavior, and social‑emotional supports for students. It is not a single program—it’s a schoolwide approach that ensures students receive universal instruction, targeted help, or intensive support as needed.
Why We Monitor Progress
At LCSD1, we monitor student progress to see how well intervention plans are working for learning and behavior. For students receiving Tier II or Tier III support, we collect data to track their progress. If the data shows students are improving, we keep using the same interventions until they reach their goals. If the data shows they are not making progress, we adjust or change the intervention to better meet their needs.
