Oct. 6—Lyla Rose

Lyla Rose, an eighth grade student at McCormick Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Oct. 6.
Rose was selected by the committee for her leadership, positive outlook and strong work ethic. She maintains excellent grades while taking honors classes and is recognized for her dedication to learning.
In the classroom, Rose is known for producing high quality work and collaborating well with peers. She is a member of the yearbook club and serves as an office aide. She is described as dependable, hardworking and always willing to help.
Rose also participates in choir, track and volleyball at McCormick. Outside of school, she plays competitive soccer and enjoys biking, skiing, and spending time with friends and family.
Rose selected Erin McNamee as her favorite teacher because of McNamee’s kindness and support. “Having her as the yearbook sponsor was so fun,” Rose said.
