Nov. 24—Allison Cook

Allie Cook, an eighth grade student at McCormick Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Nov. 24.
Cook was selected for her kindness, strong work ethic, and involvement in both academics and extracurricular activities. She maintains high grades while taking multiple honors classes, and she participates in ROTC and Science Olympiad.
She is known for being a motivated, thoughtful and dependable student who brings positivity to the classroom.
Outside of school, Cook enjoys painting, going to the gym with her brother, watching movies and reading books. She also volunteers in her church’s children’s ministry.
Cook selected Tara Lauterbach as her favorite teacher because of the welcoming, conversational environment she creates in class. She said she appreciates how organized and approachable Lauterbach is and enjoys the engaging discussions that make learning history fun.
“Allie is one of those students you will remember years into the future,” Lauterbach said. “A student who was always on task, asking driving questions, caring for others and setting the example for her peers.”
