Jan. 5—Jack Boose

Jack Boose, an 11th grade student at South High School, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Jan. 5.
Boose was selected for his determination, resilience and leadership skills. He is known for exemplifying South’s core values of Honor, Enthusiasm, Responsibility and Determination (HERD).
Boose has challenged himself by taking advanced placement classes. Additionally, he has earned the Emergency Medical Responder certification. In an emergency at South this year, he responded calmly and provided aid to an injured person.
Boose serves as president of SkillsUSA and has received multiple awards, including second place nationally in First Aid and CPR. He also participated in summer weights and earned a letter for his commitment.
Following graduation, Boose hopes to attend the University of Washington to become an orthodontist.
“Boose brings enthusiasm to school each day by striving to better himself and pursuing the strongest education possible to build a bright future,” said Academy teacher and SkillsUSA sponsor Brian Belknap.
Boose selected Belknap as his favorite teacher because of his encouragement to join SkillsUSA and for always being there to support him.
