May 4—Curtis Dunlop

Curtis Dunlop, a seventh grade student at McCormick Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of May 4.
Dunlop was selected for his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the kindness he consistently shows to those around him. His favorite subjects are world geography and English, where he enjoys the way his teachers make learning engaging and meaningful.
Teachers describe Dunlop as a student who not only strives to do his best, but also encourages others to succeed. Others noted his determination when faced with challenges and his ability to approach difficult tasks with confidence and perseverance.
“He’s often the glue that holds a classroom community together,” one teacher shared. “Our school is undeniably a better place because of his presence.”
Outside of school, Dunlop enjoys wrestling and flag football. He also likes playing video games and spending time with his neighbors.
Dunlop selected Luke Vaporis as his favorite teacher, sharing that he enjoys his class because of the humor and fun he brings into the classroom.
